Festive Friday
21/11/2016

If you hadn't guessed by now Christmas is well and truly on it's way, the Christmas adverts have all launched and there is festive food in all the supermarkets. Christmas is that special time of year where we send out a card to send our good wishes for the year. Festive Friday is now in it's fourth year, driven by the Greeting Card Association it has become an iconic start to the postage of Christmas Cards.

The idea is that on the last Friday in November, it's a special day for everyone in the card industry (and all lovers of cards) to send their personal Christmas cards. We hope to create a great sparky first wave of beautiful cards arriving in the first week of December to get everyone in the Christmas card-sending mood!

To celebrate Paper Rose & The Art Group will be taking part this Friday to help get the festive season off to a great start. We've attached the official poster created by the GCA explaining how you can take part. The GCA have lots of ideas on their website about how you can take part and here are a few below,

Take part in the GCA’s Festive Friday Twitter Giveaway!
We’re reprising this – as it went so brilliantly last year! Help us create another massive wave of free publicity for the day – all you need to do is give away a pack of Christmas cards (or two if you prefer) to your lucky winner!

Here's how to take part:
Post a photo of your giveaway prize at 9am on Festive Friday using the words:

It’s #FestiveFriday! RT&follow by 9pm today for a chance to #win in our #giveaway. Get sending your Christmas cards!

Tweet your winner after 9pm and, if the winner has ‘followed’ you, send a private message congratulating them and get their address details for the prize. If the recipient then posts a photo of their prize a few days later, this can also be retweeted.

More ideas!
Change your Facebook and Twitter covers and email sign off images to Festive Friday ones in the lead up to the day - these are all in the toolkit below. And post lots of lovely pics on Instagram.

Donate some (old or new) Christmas cards to a good cause: contact your local school, play centre, an elderly people’s home, charity, hospital ward for elderly people or children, community centre or church group. Give them a lovely box of free Christmas cards, details of Festive Friday and a poster (see toolkit below) to help them to organise a Christmas card sending event on the day.

Organise a Festive Friday event at work using the toolkit below. Get your staff together for an hour to write their Christmas cards, provide the cards and postage and send them all out on the day.

Take photos! Post these on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and remember to tag us! @GCAUK

And most important of all - remember to send lots of Christmas cards!
